Our mission is to ignite passion and motivate our athletes to reach increasingly higher results through commitment, self-confidence and fun with the amazing sport of fencing!

Located in Waukesha County between Milwaukee and Madison, Ataba Fencing Club is widely recognized as the best fencing club in Wisconsin and considered one of the best in the U.S., welcoming athletes of all ages and skill levels.

Founded by 3-time Olympian Coach Abbas Fadel in 1996, Ataba Fencing Club:

  • Holds open fencing training practices three times a week at our spacious, 12-strip facility in Hartland, WI

  • Hosts monthly USFA-sanctioned fencing tournaments, drawing local and regional competition

  • Offers private fencing lessons, a full armory and fencing equipment available for purchase

Whether you are an experienced or a beginning fencer, Ataba Fencing Club offers high-level fencing instruction in a supportive and inspirational environment which honors sportsmanship, leadership and exciting competition.

Margherita Guzzi Vincenti and Coach Abbas Fadel were interviewed by CBS58 News in a Hometown Sports segment! Margherita talks about her Olympic goals, her passion for fencing and her pride for the potential opportunity to represent the U.S. in Paris at the 2024 Olympic Games.

Ataba Fencing Club founder Abbas Fadel is considered one of the best fencing coaches in the world, and in that role he coaches the club’s flagship fencer, Margherita Guzzi Vincenti. Both were interviewed by Al Jazeera at a 2022 international competition in Doha, Qatar.   • Ataba is a family friendly fencing club and is one of the best fencing clubs that I have been involved with over my 50+ years in fencing. Abbas Fadel is an excellent coach.  He is responsible for the amazing family atmosphere that is the club's trademark. While it is a competitive club, it is a great place for beginners to try the great sport of fencing. The facility has 12 complete strips for training, an armory, equipment available for purchase, and is large enough to accommodate the membership. I am proud to be a member and represent the club in competitions.

  • We feel so incredibly lucky to be a part of Ataba Fencing Club. It is difficult to put into words how much positive energy, inspiration and love we feel every time we step foot in the club. Not only is Coach Abbas an amazing instructor, he makes fencing fun for everyone of all ages and ability levels. Our four children all have such a great time training, learning new skills, and spending time with wonderful friends! They have learned confidence, discipline, respect and even leadership skills while helping fencers who are new to the club.
